If you're anything like me, staying consistent and on top of your social media is hard work.
Results have show that posting consistently, by means of the days you post and also the time of day is a good way to build your social media presence and following.
Your followers and connections get used to a pattern of when you post. So if you're posting consistently then they're more likely to see and interact with your content.
For the last 4 weeks (writing this on the 30th April 2020) I've been posting consistently on LinkedIn, and Instagram everyday (apart from Sundays), and on Twitter twice a week.
I did a bit of research for when my target connections are online; Monday to Wednesday 9:05am is the best time to post, Thursday and Friday at 12:03pm, and Saturday I post at 12:30pm. That seems to be working for me at the moment anyway.
The problem I asked myself, was how would I realistically keep this up?
At the moment I'm in lockdown due to the Coronavirus outbreak here in the UK, so it's not so difficult to find time!
However, when things come back to some sort of normality and I have to travel to jobs again, then how do I keep posting at those very specific times and days?
Answer...
I was recommended an app by a friend where you can post to social media automatically. Where you can schedule posts, and create a backlog of content which will post even if you're asleep!
The app is called "Buffer" and it's transformed my social media life!
Since downloading it a couple of months ago, I now have a system in place.
I'll create all my content for the week on Sunday, load it all into the Buffer app, then that's me done for the week, especially for LinkedIn and Twitter posting.
Instagram is a little bit more manual, but the Buffer app alerts you, copies the text to your clipboard, and opens Instagram for you, so all you need to do is paste the caption text in the Instagram app and hit post.
Such a simple app, but it really has changed my social media posting life for the better!
There is a paid version of the app, but I only use the free version, and it's perfectly good enough for what I need it for.
Here's the website for Buffer: https://buffer.com
It's available for Apple & Android, and an online desktop version.
Give it a try and let me know what you think!
If you're not following me on social media already, then let's connect!
